Safir Meeting 2023

August 26 2023 the yearly Safir meeting will take place in Linköping (ESSL). The meeting will take place at the same time as Linköping Flying Club celebrates 90 year of flying with a Fly-In and a hangar party in the evening.

During the day there will be Safir related seminars and a flying display by Team 50. The DC-3 ”Daisy” will attend the meeting.

A bus will be available for transfer to and from the Swedish Air Force Museum at Malmen.

• 10.00 Start of Fly-In
• 10.15 DC-3 ”Daisy” will land
• 10.30 Bus to the Air Force Museum
• 11.00 Next bus to Air Force Museum
• 11.00 – 15.00 Safir seminar
• 11.00 – 14.00 Hamburger for lunch
• 14.30 Return bus from Air Force Museum
• 15.30 Display by Team 50
• 18.00 Hangar party with live band playing
• 22.00 Last time to take-off with aircraft from ESSL

Safir Seminar

• History of Saab Safir, Ulf Edlund
• Technical development of Saab Safir, Thomas Lilja
• Reduced fees for veteran aircraft, Kjell Franzen
• Cooperation with Saab Safir spare parts, Safir Flying Heritage, Alf Ingesson-Thoor

Cost

• The meeting is free to attend.
• Hangar Party, 400 SEK. Including main course and dessert with water/sodas and coffe. Alcoholic beverages will be sold separately. Note: Tickets for the hangar party must be reserved HERE at latest August 15. Pay using Swish 65 8269 9305.
• Hamburgers, 100 SEK all you can eat.
• Bus to Air Force Museum, 70 SEK.

Accomodation

We are currently working to get a deal with some hotels for lower room rates.

Fuel

AVGAS 91/96 and 100LL are available at Linköping Flying Club. Pay with credit card.

Landing fee

No landing fee for flying visitors to the Fly-In!

Note: PPR is required for all flying visitors!
