2025 Saab Safir Meeting will be held at Saab Airport (ESSL) in Sweden August 16-17 2025. As always MFI-9/-15 owners are invited as well. This year we will also celebrate Saab Safir 80 year since first flight November 20.
Preliminary agenda:
- Saturday August 16
- 12.00. Welcome lunch. Grilled Hamburgers.
- 13.00. Welcome speech.
- 13.15. Presentation by Thomas Lilja of A.J. Andersson, the designer of Saab Safir.
- 13.45. Open discussion. ”What will happen when there are no type certificate holder of Safir? Consequences of Swedish national rules changes regarding experimental aircraft”.
- 14.30. Afternoon Tea/Coffe, or as we say in Sweden ”FIKA”, together with engine Start of a Bücker Jungmann.
- 15.00. Open discussion. ”How will we supply the Safir with spare parts with CoC?”
- 16.00. Presentation by Björn Rystedt ”The rise and fall of Swedish Air Force Safir Clubs”.
- 18.00. Barbecue dinner in the hangar. Film show from previous Safir meetings.
- Sunday August 17
- 10.00. Breakfast/Fika.
- 10.30. Briefing for Safir formation flight.
- 12.00. Formation flight.
Food and drinks will be available at self cost.
The meeting will be held in Linköping Flying Club (LFK) club house. See visitor instructions on LFK homepage. Note: PPR is required for flying guests!
It will be possible to attend the meeting from distance. A Zoom link will be provided!
We will also have a garage sale (Loppis) for books and equipment relating to flying activities!
