Yesterday LAZ left Linköping for a four day journey to the new home in England. The new owner, Nick Stone and his son Tom, visited the flying club facilities and helped to arrange the transport. LAZ will be in good company in England since Nick Stone also bought KUA in 2020.

When the transport arrived we noticed that we would have the same problem as when we transported KUA. The trailer was very high. There was no way to lift the aircraft onto the trailer and no winch to pull the aircraft.
But since we are all engineers there is always a solution!
We used Nicks car to pull LAZ on top of the trailer. We built a two step ladder in order to avoid hitting the tail of LAZ. The aircraft is very tail heavy without an engine so one of us had to stand on the tow bar during the entire operation.

It took us a couple of hours in hot weather, but just before lunch we were finished and LAZ started the journey. The rest of us went to the club house for coffee and some cake. We were also presented with a box of Spitfire Ale as a gift from Nick. These will be very nice to taste at the Safir meeting August 16-17. We presented Nick and Tom with MVFK patches.
Nick and Tom was in a bit of hurry since they would travel back to England in order to meet the transport and help to unload LAZ. But Nick promised to stay in contact and we are always welcome to come and visit him at Blackstone Aviation.

Bye, Bye LAZ and welcome back to visit us again!
